The perfect fit: How to find your size at GeorgWerner

"Which size should I get?" – we get this question more than any other. It’s understandable, as print-on-demand doesn’t offer a store shelf where you can quickly try on three different sizes. Every shirt is printed and sewn only after you place your order. That is exactly why we take the topic of fit seriously – not as a footnote, but as part of the design.
Why fit works differently for sports shirts
A casual shirt can fit loosely. A sports shirt must move with you without restricting or slipping. Our organic cotton blends are breathable, but they behave differently than pure synthetic fabrics when washed – they tend to hold their shape rather than stretching out after the first wash. In concrete terms: it is better to measure yourself once precisely instead of relying on your gut feeling or comparing us to another brand.
Here is the best way to do that:
- Measure your chest circumference at the widest point; keep the measuring tape loose, do not constrict.
- Measure your body length from the shoulder to the desired shirt length, then compare it with our size chart on the respective product page.
- If your measurements fall exactly between two sizes: choose the smaller size for sports, or the larger size for a relaxed everyday look.
Our size charts vary slightly per collection because the cuts have different goals. The "Retro Shirts" are intentionally cut a bit wider for a vintage look, "Water Nomads" has a narrower and calmer silhouette, fitting the "Uniform for Inner Stillness" concept, and "Around the World" falls somewhere in between – comfortable enough for long days of travel, but without looking baggy.
And what if the size doesn't fit after all?
Because every shirt is custom-made, an exchange with us isn't just a click into an anonymous returns warehouse. We look at every case personally and find a solution – usually an exchange for the right size. It sometimes takes a day longer than with mass-produced goods, but it saves exactly the overproduction we aim to avoid with our model. It is better to measure carefully once than to order two shirts and send one back.
In short: take two minutes to check your measurements before you order. Your workouts will thank you – and so will the environment.
